Revirado Project Jazz Awards recognition became official in 2025 with the ensemble’s inclusion in the Jazz and Global Music Library of the Austrian Jazz Awards (Österreichischer Jazzpreis), one of Austria’s most important institutions dedicated to jazz and related contemporary musical expressions.
Organised through a collaboration between the Austrian Music Council, mica – music austria, the Ö1 Jazz editorial team, IG World Music and the renowned Vienna jazz venue Porgy & Bess, the Austrian Jazz Awards aim to promote, document and support outstanding artistic projects connected to the Austrian jazz scene.
The inclusion of Revirado Project in the Austrian Jazz Awards Library acknowledges the ensemble’s artistic trajectory and its contribution to contemporary tango-jazz. Led by saxophonist, composer and producer Enrique Thompson, the project has developed a distinctive musical language that combines Argentine musical traditions, jazz improvisation and contemporary influences.
Based between Vienna and the Canary Islands, Revirado Project has performed internationally, building cultural bridges between Europe and Latin America through concerts, educational activities and interdisciplinary collaborations.
This Revirado Project Austrian Jazz Awards recognition reflects the ensemble’s strong roots in the Austrian music community and its growing international reputation as one of the leading contemporary tango-jazz fusion projects.
The Austrian Jazz Awards Library serves as a permanent reference platform for artists contributing to the diversity and development of jazz and global music. The inclusion of Revirado Project places the ensemble alongside a wide range of internationally recognised musicians and artistic initiatives.
