The first edition of Ruta del Jazz Fuerteventura ran from May to August 2023, with 23 live concerts across Betancuria, Tuineje, Puerto del Rosario, La Oliva, Pájara and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. All concerts were free and open to the public.

The core ensemble was led by Enrique Thompson (saxophone, piano and artistic direction, Argentina/Italy), joined by Thomas Figueroa (guitar, Fuerteventura/Sweden), Ancor Miranda (drums, Tenerife/Belgium), Joel Beltrán (piano, Fuerteventura), Davide Garattoni (double bass) and Luis Asensio Cabrera (drums and percussion, Fuerteventura).
International guest: Guilad Shmaya (piano, Israel), who performed in the opening concert at Cabraret, Playa de Santa Inés, on 27 May 2023.
Additional musicians joining throughout the edition: Joaquín Vaccari, Lindewel Duma, Federico Codice, José Alberto Medina (piano, Gran Canaria) and Franco Contreras (bass), the latter two performing at the Fábrica La Isleta concert in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on 30 July 2023.
